Frequently Asked Questions

What is ChromaJet?

ChromaJet is a color puzzle game with gravity cascade mechanics. Drag colored pieces from a tray onto an 8x8 grid. When connected groups of 4 or more same-color blocks form, they auto-pop and blocks above drop down via gravity, potentially creating chain combos for massive scores. Compete on weekly leaderboards and track your stats.

Is ChromaJet free to play?

Yes. ChromaJet is completely free to download and play. All game features are available at no cost.

Does ChromaJet work offline?

Yes. The core gameplay works perfectly without an internet connection. An internet connection is only needed for the weekly leaderboard and syncing your stats.

How does color group popping work?

When you place a piece on the grid, the game scans for connected groups of 4 or more same-color blocks (horizontally and vertically connected, not diagonals). All qualifying groups pop simultaneously. Then gravity drops remaining blocks down, which can form new groups — triggering chain cascades. Each cascade level increases your combo multiplier.

How does scoring work?

You earn points in multiple ways:

  • Placement - 10 points per cell placed
  • Group pop base - 20 points per cell in group
  • Group pop bonus - 10 extra points for each cell beyond 4 in a group
  • Combo multiplier - Cascading pops multiply your score (1.0x, 1.5x, 2.0x, ...)

What block shapes are available?

ChromaJet features 31 unique piece shapes including single dots, horizontal and vertical lines, 2x2 and 3x3 squares, L-shapes, J-shapes, T-blocks, S-blocks, and Z-blocks. Each cell within a piece gets its own random color from 5 vibrant color options.

When does the game end?

The game ends when none of the remaining pieces in your tray can fit anywhere on the grid. You always have 3 pieces in the tray, and a new set of 3 is dealt when all 3 have been placed. Strategy is key — plan your placements to keep space available and set up color group combos.

How does the weekly leaderboard work?

The leaderboard tracks the top 50 players each week based on their best score. A new week starts every Monday. Set your player tag in the app to appear on the leaderboard. Your weekly best score is automatically submitted when you have an internet connection.

How do I set my player tag?

Open the leaderboard or settings and tap on the player tag option. Choose a name between 3-20 characters using letters, numbers, and underscores. Your tag must start with a letter. This name is visible to other players on the leaderboard.

How does the daily streak work?

Play at least one game every day to maintain your streak. The streak counter increments each day you play and resets if you miss a day. Special visual milestones appear at 7, 14, 30, 60, and 100 consecutive days.

The app is crashing or not loading. What should I do?

If ChromaJet is crashing or not loading properly, try these steps:

  1. Close the app completely and reopen it
  2. Make sure you have the latest version from the App Store or Google Play
  3. Restart your device
  4. If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall the app

If none of these steps help, please contact us with a description of the issue and your device model.

The leaderboard is not loading.

The leaderboard requires an internet connection. Make sure you are connected to the internet and try again. If it still does not load, the service may be temporarily unavailable. Please try again later.

My score is not appearing on the leaderboard.

Scores sync automatically when you have an internet connection. If your score is not appearing, check your connection and wait a moment. The app uses an offline-first approach and will sync pending scores when connectivity is restored.

How is my data used?

We take your privacy seriously. ChromaJet stores your gameplay progress locally on your device. Only your player tag and weekly best score are shared for the leaderboard. We do not sell your data. For full details, please read our Privacy Policy.
